Job Description:

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Forklift Driver must identify and transport material to and from storage areas and loading docks. Operate the Powered Industrial Truck using safe practices to raise and lower materials in and out of appropriate storage slots.

Responsibilities & Duties:

Specific Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:

• Transport pallet loads of product from docks to correct warehouse locations using powered industrial equipment and ensure all pallets are secure and in designated locations.
• Perform operational and safety checks, including battery, brakes, lift controls and fire extinguishers.
• Perform a variety of general duties including picking/packing, loading/unloading, storage and distribution of fresh, frozen, or refrigerated food, packaging materials, supplies and equipment.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary food distribution and warehouse environment.
• Maintain a safe and secure work environment and follow all safety practices and policies.
• Visually inspect for damaged goods and report any findings to management.
• Report any shortages in inventory or quality deficiencies.
• Comply with company policies and legal guidelines.
• Operate the powered industrial truck in a safe and efficient manner.
• Help keep the workplace free from trash and debris.
• Proper handling of food products and materials including unloading trucks, completion of proper documents, labeling, product cycling and storage.
• Ensure first in and first out (FIFO) methodology is used in accordance with quality standards.
• Other duties as assigned by your supervisor / manager

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior Food Safety experience is preferred.
• Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
• Bilingual English / Spanish is preferred.
• Basic mathematical skills (e.g., add, subtract, multiply, divide).
• Ability to accurately complete required paperwork in a timely manner as well as properly shrink wrap and label pallets.
